Walking the walk: How to live the love Jesus taught

    Saturday, February 21, 2015

    •  11:00am to 12:00pm

    •  Seventh Church of Christ, Scientist, 1740 Yorktown, Houston, Texas 77056

His last instructions were simple: “Love one another, as I have loved you.” So, why is it so hard to put Jesus’ teachings into practice? Why do we judge ourselves and others harshly? What does it take to love your enemies and forgive those who’ve hurt you? These questions will be explored at a free community talk by international speaker, Chet Manchester.

Manchester, a Christian Science practitioner and lecturer, will share examples of how the practice of divine Love has stopped violence and helped people rebuild relationships and overcome serious health problems. His talk will include a perspective on Mary Baker Eddy, who wrote extensively about the healing power of Love and whose bestselling book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, has helped people of all faiths rediscover the practicality of Jesus’ teachings. Remember, this is a free talk, open to everyone. Child care will be provided.
